How to replace a ceiling fan with a light fixture?

Your home is looking ugly due to the old ceiling fan, don’t worry these are the simple and easiest steps to follow and replace your ceiling fan to a light fixture which makes your home look more beautiful.

These are the steps you need to know how to replace a ceiling fan with a light fixture and they are as follows:

Step #1

First of all you need to turn off the circuit breaker which is supplying the power to the light. Now climb the ladder and reach the electrical box and remove the screws which is holding the light to electrical box. If your fan is heavy remove the blades before proceeding.

Step #2

Check the wires whether they are live or not by touching the wires with the voltage blade tester, if you see the light please do not proceed because the wires is live and it is dangerous.

Step #3

Take the wires out of the electrical box and disconnect the wires from the wire nuts. Do note that you need a extra person to hold the fan while you disconnect the wires. Finally remove the Mounting clamps.

Step #4

Open the new light fixture and read the manual carefully before mounting it. Now install the Mounting bracket to a electrical box and install the mounting screw. Do not tight the screws fully because it will be helpful in the installation of light mixture.

Step #5

Strip the light fixture wire ends approximately to a 1/2-3/4 inches. Now lift the light fixture to the electrical box and connect the wires. Do note that usually the connections of the wire will be black-black(hot wires) and white-white(neutral wires) if it is not please go through the manual and make the connections properly.

Step #6

Screw on the wire nuts and tight the wire nuts until it get tightened and do not over tight it because it can break the connection. Now carefully place these wires in the electric box’s back side.

Step #7

Lift the light fixture base in the correct position, place it and then tight the screws of the mounting until the base get tightened.

Step #8

Congratulations! You have successfully replaced your ceiling fan with a wall fixture, as a final step install some light bulbs and Turn On the Circuit Breaker.
